Starting and stopping a T-55 tank.
Starting:
- entering, do not forget to lock the hatch over your head unless you wish to have your head flatter
- check the position of the fuel valve (front to your right hand, arrow to the left)
- use manual hand-pump (next to the valve, press more times than in the video)
- open the air bottle, check air pressure (left hand behind you, pressure in the video low)
- switch batteries on (right hand, floor)
- press full accelerator
- switch pre-lubrication on (1st position), check oil pressure (right hand)
- second position lubrication (=air starter) + electric starter – use both (right hand, in the video the batteries and air are very low – hence, it takes time)
- adjust hand accelerator (left hand)
- never press clutch for more than 20 consecutive seconds!
Stopping:
- hand-accelerator to zero (left hand)
- always kill engine from high revolves – press accelerator, release, kill.
- batteries off (right hand, floor)
- air off (left hand, behind you)
